Northern Woods: Rules for Entry
RULES FOR ENTRY and FEES:
- Deadline for Entry is March 29, 2010.
- Entries are limited to objects made primarily of wood.
- Space on the exhibition floor permitting, each entrant may submit any number of pieces, but only one piece is eligible for judging. If too many entrants are received, second entries will not be shown.
- Pieces shown at previous Northern Woods Exhibitions are not eligible for exhibition, judging, or awards.
- The show committee reserves the right to reject a piece it deems unacceptable for any reason.
- All pieces must remain on the floor for the duration of the show.
- Larger pieces display best on attractive flat black pedestals 4 inches in height. Pedestals should have leg levelers, with rubber or soft vinyl material in contact with the showroom floor. Entrants must provide their own pedestal. Wall hanging pieces will need a wall suitable for display of the piece. Entrants must provide their own wall display.
- Small items may be displayed in entrant or Guild-provided display cases or vitrines. Please contact the show committee if you will need space in a Guild display case.
- Advertising is limited to portfolios, business cards, and Guild sponsored publications. All advertising must remain next to the entrant’s piece(s).
- Although the Guild and Southdale will have people available to monitor the show at all times, neither party is responsible for damage to, or loss of, pieces on display. Insurance coverage for pieces on display is the responsibility of the entrant.
- Entrants will be expected to volunteer time staffing the Guild booth.
Guild Members exhbiting for the first time: $10.00
- First-time entrants may enter the show for the significantly reduced rate of $10. Due to space limitations, a large number of first-time entries may require the show committee to jury the first-time entries. All other rules for entry noted above apply.
- Guild Members exhbiting for the first time: $10.00
- Members of either the Minnesota Woodworkers or Woodturners Guild: $50.00
- Non-members: $75.00
- Joining the Guild plus entering a piece: Add $80.00
- Each additional piece over two: Add $25.00
PLEASE NOTE THIS RULE:
- Photos submitted after April 15, 2010 will not be included in the catalog. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- All pieces MUST be in place by midnight, April 21, 2010. Late pieces will be excluded from the show.
